Is it safe to say most AR have the same thread pitch? Isn't it 1/4 something?
Edit, muzzle for surpresor |

Quoted:
almost all 5.56/.223 and .22lr models are 1/2 x28 tpi. Most 9mm are 1/2 x 36 tpi along with some 7.62x39's, and then 7.62's are 5/8x24 i believe. ETA: if talking about muzzle threading. Yeah, I'm trying to buy 2 flash hiders to fit 1 silencer. Don't want the buy the wrong thread. |

I thought 9mm was 1/2x28 too? My A2 flash hider screwed right onto my M&P9's threaded barrel... Don't ask why, I just decided to screw it on |

It varies by caliber from mfr. to mfr. 1/2 x 36 is common for 9mm to keep people from threading a 5.56 FH onto a 9mm. AA's barrels for 6.5 are 9/16 x 24 30 cal class is usually 5/8 x 24 Then there's some odd balls like 6.5 Sporter which is 1/2 x 36 Verify the threading on your barrel and make sure that your chosen muzzle device is compatible with your caliber. |
