I've got some refurbished USGI 30's that fit tightly in my AR and won't drop free. I'm seeing scratches on the mag finish towards the notch when I take them out. I know the procedure for correcting this but need 2 points cleared up. 1. Should I apply pressure along the length of the top of the mag, say with a bench vise, or can I just apply the pressure around the notch with vise grips or channel locks? 2. I'm assuming that the follower and spring must be removed before applying pressure. Any advice would be helpful. TIA! |
