If USGI Mags don't drop free, you're mag well is probably out of spec. and the manufacturer should do something to make it right.

It's important that a mag drops free so as not to hinder a tactical reload.

Could be the Mags. I have found a few mags that were out of spec at the front, maybe they where dropped at one time, I dont know. I put them in a vise and squeezed them just a little(about .005") and now they work fine.

is all of your mags tight. if they are it is a spec problem with the lower. if its just one mag it may be a out of spec mag. i bought (6) 20rd straight body mags a while back and 2 of them will not drop out and are tight in every lower i tried them in (4) different lowers.

You might also want to check the area of the trigger gaurd that attaches to the magwell. I had one that was out of spec and protruded into the magwell just a hair. It caused enough drag to prevent the mags from dropping free.

Thanks for the replies, sat down & tried all my Mags on my M4gery, its seems its the Brownells ones it doesnt like, USGI,SA80 are fine, its not a drama as they fit my CAR15 with no problems, seems they have a slightly thicker grainy finnish on the Brownells Mags.
