I have searched a lot of dealers sites and all I find is crush washers. Did you actually crush the washer? I have never seen one that would not give you at least a full turn after making contact. That should time anything. Perhaps you just need to apply more torque/crush. Put some oil on the barrel threads and both sides of your washer before installing it. |

Okay maybe I'm reading this wrong. When I started the checkout process, they asked for my e-mail address and password. Do they want a password just for their system, or the password I use to access my e-mail account? TIA, Ray |

| After contact is made with the crush washer, turn the brake about 90 degrees and then back it off. Advance the brake 90 degrees past where you stopped the previous time, and back it off. I kept doing this with a BattleComp and I was surprised with how much the washer actually crushed. |

I thought you weren't supposed to back off a crush washer? Hmm. Guess I learned something new today On the final crush you don't... He's talking about working up to the desired index point. But then you have to ask yourself, how much torque do I want to put on my muzzle when muzzle device torque is called out at 15-20 ft lbs ? |
|
It's called a jam nut.
This muzzle break uses one It works the same way a jam nut does on some FF handguards or essentially the same as your buffer tube castle nut. |

The OP is correct, crush washers may not give you 360 degrees, and depending on the brake you may need it.
Brownells sells shims if pws is giving you trouble. You may want to use them w/o the crush washer. Jam nuts are an option You can also take some material off the back of the brake until it clocks with the crush washer or even without. |
