OK, got my .22 cal. upper from a guy on the net and took it shooting today. To much fun, if you don't have one, you should really consider it! But when I got home, I noticed the flash hider was loose. I tightened it up finger tight and can see that it is off. If you are looking at the muzzle of the rifle from the front, the flash slots that should be in the 9-3 o'clock positions are in the 10-4 o'clock positions. I have the flash hider that has the bottom solid and the slots in the top half. I see that in order to time my flash hider correctly, I will have to move it a lot! Almost a full turn. Can you guys tell me the best way to do this? That much turning just can't be good for the threads!
Thanks, Mark |
| Between the flash hider and barrel should be a concaved crush washer. It is designed to flatten out and provide tension to the flash hider as you tighten it. Take a wrench to it and start turning slowly till it lines up where you want it. If it has a great deal of resistance before reaching where it needs to be, get a new crush washer, they are pretty cheap from any number of suppliers. |
