Looking for a Timney 3lb trigger with the skeleton shoe. Does anybody know where I can find one in stock? All I find are the regular competition style ones. Are there any practical benefits of the skeleton one or is it purely cosmetic??

Cosmetic.

I have the 4# trigger.  It is getting transplanted to my .308.  Great trigger, but I am spoiled by the 2 stage Gieselles.  Ruined might be a better word.  I think my single stage triggers should stay on the bench.

Thanks, I have already checked on the one at Rainier and it's available to add to the wish list only. Only the 4lb skeleton one is actually in stock.

Alaska551... Which Geiselle do you prefer? I was looking into them but this will be for an all around gun used mostly for hunting but some target shooting as well. I'm used to a Jewell in Remington 700s so I am debating how I will like a 2 stage and how long it will take to get used to it when switching back and forth between rifles. I currently have the JP adjustable that was around $115 which is a complete WASTE of money in my opinion.

I would go with the SSA-E its a two stage and a 3.5lb pull. I just put one in my build. Awesome trigger!!

Have you checked EE? I see them there periodically. I think someone has some listed now actually but it's a match trigger. Not sure if that's what you're looking for.

H: Regarding Rainier's Timney triggers, I suggest you call them, their web site is ambiguous about which models are instock.  As for the Geisselle triggers, the ultimate is their Hi-Speed Match, similar to the SSA and SSA-E, but fully adjustable.  Apparently, it can be adjusted down to about 2.5 lbs total weight.  That's the one to get, IMO. - CW
