| Do you lube your triggers? I was wondering because mine feels a little rough and I realized that I haven't put any form of lubrication on it and I've fired about three hundred rounds with it. |

I installed my new Timney AR15 Trigger Item #664-S, Small Pin .154,4 Lbs. Pull, in to my new High Standard AR15 Model HSTX6551 Flat Top Carbine, .223 Remington / 5.56mm NATO Mine was smooth and crisp. I do put a dab of grease/oil with a tooth pick. But that's just me. One thing, I did have small problem installing it, it is fixed now. Oh, yea, the Timney AR15 Trigger contributed very much in the accuracy of the fore mentioned rifle. |
gunner-1, I have 2 Timney's installed in my 6920's - awesome trigger! But, to answer your question - I use Tetra grease on mine (sear & disconnector) then lot's of dry firing. Mine out of the box were excellent, now they're perfect - if you're a car guy...it's like seating the rings on a piston to the cylinder - the contact surfaces with use will mesh together perfectly. my $0.02 Sakic #19

| Try boosting the trigger to smoothen it up and eliminate some of the creep if it has any. Boosting the trigger is to apply upward force to the hammer while pulling the trigger. Do that 4-5 times and check again. That should smoothen up your pull. I do put a bit of lube on the bearing and contact surfaces as well. Just be careful not to let the hammer slam into the receiver when boosting. You need a dry fire block or to soften the hammer blow with your finger or a block of wood or something. If that does not help.....i recommend calling timney to see about sending it back. They are more than willing to make it right. |
