[ARCHIVED THREAD] - Timney Trigger

This is my second AR but first build. Been looking triggers, thinking of going with the Timney skeletonized trigger, just wondering should i be gtg with this? Also how do i know if my lower is small pin or large pin?

I had the Timney #3 and it was a good trigger. It had an issue with doubling and Timney replaced it for me free of charge with the "new" version. I sold the Timney after I got my Geissele DMR and I will never go back.

What lower do you have?

What receivers have the large pin for future builds

Colts mostly. But not all Colts. I'm not sure about any other brands.

Timneys are GTG.

The pull is so light and the reset so short you will want one for all your rifles.

Many don't suggest using them in SHTF builds due to reliability.

Also if the springs break I don't think you can use regular AR springs.

Some of the other match triggers do so that is one down side.

I've heard about reliablity issues. They also have a lot of overtravel, and you're not supposed to use surplus ammo..

Easy install, and very nice break though...

I think there are better options available.

Have one on my DMR. Excellent in every regard. I'd say they are GTG.

not worth the price and I 100% agree it is not a shtf rifle trigger. Would never trust that trigger for a life death sit.

I purchased an early one. TWO trips back to Timney and they were BOTH on MY nickle. I can't say that was good customer service, the second time I received it back from them it wouldn't reset fresh out of the box!
