| Just finished installing my timney trigger in my Bushmaster lower and I'm slightly disappointed. Tightening screws in gold trigger housing to seat trigger eventually prevents the selector from turning because the selector is contacting the rear of portion of the unit. I have to back out the screws out so much to allow the selector to function that the trigger pins fall out with very little contact because of the lack of tension. |

Something is amiss in there. I just measured a Timney AR trigger assembly I have sitting here and a selector. The trigger tail measures. .248 and the opening on the selector is .330 so there should be plenty of clearance on the sides. Now do your pins slip easily in and out of the receiver with no trigger? The Timney doesn't use the hammer spring or a j spring to retain the pins but the pins should have snug fit in the receiver unless the holes are now oversize. You should not have to put enough tension in the set screws in the trigger group to move it enough to bind against the selector. If your pin holes in the receiver are loose you might look into getting oversize pins or some of the anti rotation pins to keep it from slipping out so you don't have to crank down on the screws so hard. |
You could use the adjustable safety from JP: JP Safety |
