Mods, feel free to delete if inappropriate, but I'd like to keep this here as the retro crew are a generous tight knit family.
Does anyone have the correct barreling tools to remove/install a barrel on a Remington 700 including the different size bushings? I need to remove a standard .308 barrel and replace with a medium heavy varmint. Please let me know if your willing to loan or (?) . TIA. Do I need to post a retro AR to stay here?? |
| Headspace is SCARY! I got a Century L1A1 about 15 years ago that the headspace was way off. First shot using South African ball ammo, the first shot suffered total case head separation. That blew out all the rounds out of the bottom of the steel mag, swelled it and tore a seam, and scared the cr@p out of me! Worst part was I was in a sitting position, and everything that blew out the bottom got me in the "nards!" |

of course you know there is more to swapping barrels on a bolt action than just unscrewing the old barrel and replacing it with a new one right? Yep,,well aware. Thanks for watching out tho! OK, just wouldn't want to see any of my retro bro's blowing off any of their body parts

Man, that sounds like something that would only happen to me. |
