I just purchased a low profile gas block, magpul rear and front sights, and a yankee hill free float barrel. Just wondering if I should let my gunsmith do the installation for $45, or I should just purchase the tools and do it myself.

I have experience removing the muzzle brake, but other than that I have no other tools. Please let me know what tools on midwayusa.com to purchase for the installation.

You need a reciever block to clamp in a bench vise. A wrench for the barrel nut,I think yankee hill tubes may use their own proprietary wrench but not sure. Also a torque wrench but they are not neccesary in my opinion but if you need one you can rent those locally. A bench vise a buddy sure would have one of those if you do not. If this is for sure the only time you would be doing this I would just pay the 45.00 I think...A decent wrench and clamp would probably cost you a little more. Maybe a member local to you would be able to help you out too...There is probably a place online you can rent tools too. Maybe that would be an option..

If it is going to be your only build just have your gunsmith do it.

If you are going to build more ARs in the future, I would invest in the tools.

You need something like this to remove the old barrel nut.

And this to install the free float.

A set of punches and a hammer to remove the A2 front sight and an action block and vise. Thats it.
