These tools any good? way cheaper than whats offered on Brownells.

AR15 / M16 Aluminum Upper and Lower Receiver Vise Block Combo set
[need this type of upper vise in particular because I have a VLTOR MUR, which doesnt fit in a "clamshell" upper vise block]

Aim Sports Ar15 Stock Combo New Style Wrench Tool

$50 bucks for an armorer wrench and vise block set. Reviews are good too...

I bought the wrench tool and have no issues with it at all, works really well.

The reviews seem pretty legit but then you see the customer supplied photo:

wtf happened there?

Might just be a freak occurrence, and it looks like the wrench has enough teeth on the nut to put the proper torque in (if you're carful) but that's just sloppy enough that I looked elsewhere.

I wouldn't. And I didn't. I bought my tools from ADCO, Rainier Arms, Bravo Co., and Brownells. Did I pay more? Sure thing, but don't have to worry about substandard tools either.

Agreed. I bought once and learned my lesson. Paying more is worth it for tools.

wrench maybe, but what about the vise blocks?

I just bought the lower vice block. It's worked perfectly on both my Mega and BCM lower. I can't see how the 3x more expensive model from Brownells could have worked any better.

I bought a set of vise blocks of ebay for $20 shipped.  They worked great and I had to torque to 75 ft/lbs to get my gas tube to align.

I use the same vice block set and wrench. Haven't had any issues.

Aside from how to shoot, the best thing my grandfather taught me was when it comes to tools you get what you pay for.

+1 on this. I have used my Gem State Armory wrench on multiple builds and it makes it easy.

I  bought the AIM  gen 2  from amazon for 18  bucks.  I  may build two or three ar's so I could not justify  spending a mint on a wrench.

first build went spending to plan.  I  knew worst case the castle nut was a little sloppy but I took my time and it went together.

just my $02  cents
