Just looking for input.....Up front, I appreciate your time and opinion.....
I have been waiting to buy my first AR for a while, and have been seriously looking over the last month, since returning from Iraq. I initially was going to build my own and bought a stripped RRA lower, a VLTOR E-MOD stock, and placed a 16" LMT upper on order (back ordered until feb). So I was hitting the local gun stores today and came upon a complete NIB LMT CQB MRP Gas Piston for $1895 ($1995 on LMT website). I like the idea of having a MRP....not sure I'm sold on the gas piston system though. I don't plan on shooting competitively, but I am the type of person that will spend the extra money for a decent product, that I don't have to worry about. 1) Is going to a Piston driven system worth it? (Using it for personal protection/recreational shooting) 2) Is $1895 a decent price? (I could carry it out of the store!-I like the idea of that) 3) I have seen that some have had some chambering issues with the initial builds.....any input on that? Thanks for any input....this forum has been great in educating the new AR buyer. |
