| Most hardware and auto parts stores should have them. I forget where I got mine, but I paid less than $30 for it. Check to see what size drive your armorer's wrench needs, since you might need an adapter. I bought a 3/8" drive torque wrench, but needed a 1/2" drive. Easy fix, but it required one more trip to the hardware store. |

A good reason to borrow one, and the wisdom from those that the OP was a jackass to, is that after you torque a barrel nut or two, and then need to go past the torque spec anyway to get the gas tube to line up, that you really didn't need the torque wrench in the first place.
Or just spend money you may not need to. I run Craftsman and Snap-on torque wrenches. They are NIST traceable calibrated. An uncertified chinese wrench isn't a good thing to use when assembling aircraft. I use mine about once every year or two. Wanna borrow it?

I think there is a little problem with reading comprehension here - if I wanted to borrow one, I would've probably not posted a question asking for suggestions on which one to buy, or I would've rephrased the question a little bit.

| if you paid under $150 for one check it. its probably way off and will get worse every time you use it. The bar type are the only accurate ones under $150. the parts store ones are cheap to begin with then you have people who abuse them. I wouldn't trust them. Our AR15s don't really need a accurate one tho. barrel nut 30 to 80ftlbs is that right? castle nut just tighten it and stake it. it wont come loose once staked. FH just tighten it. |

One of my shops had a complete cal lab. I asked them how they calibrated the bar type. They said "they are never off".
