How many LbsFt does a barrel nut get torqued to?Thanks in advance!

... Although some places do torque barrel nuts waaay above 80 ft-lbs, and some people say that it's best to keep it as close to 30 as possible.

After you have put some grease on the threads and the barrel extension, tighten the nut to 30 ft-lbs.  Then back it off a little and re-tighten it at least 3 times.  Then, if necessary, tighten the nut at a higher torque level until the next notch on the nut aligns with the hole in the upper receiver.  If you find that it's going to take more than 80 ft-lbs to get it to align then you can try backing off and re-tightening a few more times.  It should move a little further each time.

Honestly you don't really need a torque wrench.  Just get it snug, re-tighten a few times, and then line it up at the next notch.  You are unlikely to go much over 80 ft-lbs without realizing it unless you have gorilla strength or are using a super long wrench.

Never back the nut off after you have tightened it in order to get a lower torque value.
