Does anyone manufacture new tracers for reloading? Everything I find is pulled military surplus. I hear that with the military surplus you dont get anywhere near all of them lighting, is that true? Thanks

You can sometimes find 20% light and 90% light in the milsurp projectiles. I personally have never really had much issues with each but if you find the 90% light your generally good to go.

The only i kind I have found are the 20% light for .223, and it kind of sucks.

Yes, there are new made tracer projectiles out there. There are a few places that sell them, check out the bulk reloading componant sellers. I think the last ones I saw were at hi-tech. Personally, I have never had a problem with the surplus pulls I have used. In some cases, the powder used has a noticeable effect on wether the tracers light or not.
