Ok, can someone please tell me how many versions of the Trijicon Tri Power are out there?
I know the first one was plastic and pretty much disliked by everyone.

What about the new aluminum ones?  Are there different versions of these or just one?
The reason I'm asking is that I keep seeing different prices for these things.  The Trijicon site says the MSRP is $599 but I've seen them advertised with a MSRP lower then that and I'm not sure if it might be an earlier aluminum version or the price is really that good.

Thanks alot for any help, summer is fast approaching and my rifle needs a new scope.

Got my 2006 model for 459 on Ebay. As far as I know, there is the plastic version and the aluminum version, and that's it. Great sight by the way.

Go aluminum.  I'm liking mine.  The plastic version was a big disappointment as it had some issues.  None serious enough for range use if you can get one cheap.

The newer ones omit the light stick feature.  If you are not sure what version vendors are carrying, send them an email.  I got mine from Talon Arms and it was aluminum.  Most should be carrying this version and I've seen prices varying from $500-$530 for new units.

Also factor in buying a new mount.  The one that comes with it is very basic and is a low mount.  Larue makes three nice versions you can use, a cantilever (LT-129) and straight mount (LT-150) for use directly on the flat top, plus a low mount (LT-152) for use on raised rails.   ARMS makes one specifically for the Tripower.

Thank alot for the info guys.  I have seen some for very low prices and just wanted to make sure what variations were out there.

Gyrene, I think I know the vender you're talking about on Ebay but I'm going to try one of our vendors here and see what I can get.  Semper Fi, bro.

FALbert, I think I'm going to go with a Larue mount, I'm towrads the Cantilever mount beacuase I am a nose to charging handle type and it looks pretty damn cool also, lol.

Haven't owned any myself, but a buddy of mine has a set and loves them.  That said, I clicked on this thread somehow expecting a question about the old Pontiac Tripower carburetor setup.

LOL, when I did an Ebay search that was the majority of the hits.
