what's the difference? my bushy superlight has round and this new sabre defense bbl has a triangle. to make things more interesting my bushy 20in hbar has a triangle cap with two divets in it. can anyone help me out? |

The triangle cap is the older version. When the round hanguards were designed they were made to fit either to keep .mil armorers from having to remove sight bases just to install new handguards. If you want to use triangular handguards you need the triangular cap they won't work or look right with the round one. |
To add to the above, all carbine barrels , like your Bushie superlight, have always used the round handguards. It's only rifle length barrels that used the triangular; and in most cases still do. I've never seen one, but I understand that some aftermarket barrel makers put a round type on late rifle types. If so, then you couldn't use the old style HGs on them. The mainstream makers; Colt, Bushie, Rock River, etc will all have the triangular on their 20" rifle barrels. |
