I just did "my version" of the 15 minute trigger job and must say I am quite pleased! I polished the sear engagement surfaces with 600 grit wet dry and JB Bore cleaner. Now they're a nice mirror finish. Better yet, I have a Superior Arms lower and they are tapped for a takeup screw. I can adjust the trigger right up to the break point. I have never felt a match trigger in an AR, but I can't imagine it being much nicer than this. I was going to order a Jewell two stage, but I don't think it is going to be neccessary. This was done on my target rifle. I plan on leaving my plinking/defensive AR at it's current weight, but with a nice polish job. |
Well, I was going to say, "I did the 15 minute trigger job and then some". I should have just called it "the improved 15 minute trigger job". I knew I would get a smoother trigger doing it the way I did it. I didn't think just putting polish/rubbing compound on the engagement surfaces and dropping the hammer 20 times like you said to do would give me a trigger I would be happy with. All in all it didn't take me much more than 15 minutes. Thanks for the helpful guide. |
