So I finally finished my first build (well kinda). Kinda plain and simple (rails, light, sling, carry handle, painted front sight, etc) and I've been looking for triggers that don't cost 300 or more. I found this Spike's battle trigger for 60. Has anybody used this thing? I mean Spike's is good stuff right?

Thanks Guys

fantastic "battle" trigger.

it isn't a match trigger... but thats not what its designed for.

probably the best "SHTF" trigger out there.

But then again... alot of people do fine with standard triggers.

So its not a "bad" buy but its not completely needed either.

I have one... and i love it...

What is different between the ST trigger and a standard? What will the average user notice?

ST trigger is coated in nickel boron. I have one and love it. Its exceptionally smooth and crisp. I noticed a huge difference between my stock one. You won't regret buying one if your looking for a standard trigger.

I have three and like them.  I would not say love since one of the two feels a little gritty.  I feel the trigger pull all the way through and it feels a tad rough (yes, I have cleaned it and tried to feel for the imperfections and put in four other rifles).  Don't get me wrong, it is worlds above the stock trigger.  I am just pointing out the only negative feature I have found.  Now the other two are very clean and crisp.  For the price they are great.  I am hoping that the gritty trigger I got breaks itself in.  I only have 100rnds or less through that gun.  It is a great buy and highly recommend it.

This sounds about right for me. I'm looking for a slicked up trigger that is maybe, maybe a little lighter than factory, thanks a bunch guys.

You could try the LWRC trigger.  It is also coated, but can't remember the coating off the top of my head.  I have it and it's real nice.  Never tried the Spike's BT.

My LPK was the Spikes old DPMS kit. One of my buddies just got a new LPK that is supposed to be from another supplier, it was much better. Therefore, I decided to buy the Battle Trigger when I was at Spikes today. Man what a difference! Worth the money!

Has anyone tried the 15 minute trigger job with this trigger? I'm considering getting one for my budget SPR but 5-6 pounds is a little heavy for me. I'd like it to be around 4 pounds.
