I just took my new JT Dist. CAR out to the range for a test drive.  For some reason the trigger is not resetting.  I have to push the trigger back in place for the next shot.  Brought it home and lightly touched any rough areas with a file, oiled and took it back out.  Same thing.  Any hints for a new ar15 shooter?  Is there a way I can test  without live ammo?

If you fire a single round with an empty mag in the rifle, will the bolt carrier lock back?

As for checking it without firing:

1. Verify that hammer locks to the rear when pushed back.
2. Verify that hammer pivots forward when trigger is pressed.
3. Without releasing the trigger, push the hammer back again and verify that it locks (caught by disconnector.)
4. Releasing the trigger should not cause the hammer to pivot fully forward (caught by trigger.)
5. Hammer will fall when trigger is pressed.

Thanks M4,

I had the trigger spring on wrong,  the picture I had didn't show much detail.  Took it back to the range and it runs like a champ.
