Posted this over in another forum and I think it was the wrong place. Anyway, here we go again.
So I got myself a new Colt 6940 and I'm really impressed with it. Not surprisingly, what I'm not impressed with is the stock trigger. A mushy, loooong break. I'm going to be using this gun at the range and the ranch, and I'm looking for a nice, crisp trigger break. I've heard contradictory things about several brands. Lets start with: RRA National Match: some have said it's great for the money. One site I read referred to its break as "carrot" instead of "glass". That doesn't sound good to me. Is that an accurate description? Geissele SSA: was described as "candy cane" instead of "glass". Same question. There are just so many options out there that I'm feeling a little overwhelmed. Welcome to AR's right? I'd rather not spend a ton of money, but I really want a nice clean break with no travel. Can anyone help unmuddy the waters for me? |

You won't be disappointed in the RRA. For the money it's a nice two stage trigger backed by RRA's Warranty.
I have one that broke after 8000 rounds of .22. Blowbacks are hard on FCG's and this hammer happened to have a defect. RRA replaced it. I've not tried the Geissele SSA, but have read good things about it. Dave N |

If you don't want travel, it sounds like you probably don't want a two stage trigger. Sounds like a Wilson Combat TTU should work. |
