Well, after much debate I've decided to go with a Bill Springfield trigger job over getting a two stage RRA kit. I like the reliability of the factory single stage over the two stage. I sent the parts out today and can't wait to get them back. Do you guys think I made the right choice? This is my SHTF rifle.

I think so, it's the same thing I've done on 4 sets of my own triggers over time.

I would not put a RRA in a SHTF gun but Id put a Geissele over a factory every time.  The RRA trigger has the most fialures of any trigger ever discussed on tis site and I have seen people's fail locally in person too.  Its not something I reccomend to anyone.

RRA makes alot of good parts.

For some reason the trigger (FCG) seems to be outside of their arena.  Seems odd that any Mfg. would put up with the thought of a product being sent to Bill Springfield, White Oak or anyone else  to get adjusted or fixed.  And how long will this last?

Yet next week, or tomorrow a new post will appear about a problem with a RRA FCG.

Said it before, will say it again.  Read previous posts, for your particle problem.  There is a search section on this site. Some might try it.

I've been wanting a Bill Springfield Trigger job on two of my AR's but the guy won't return my emails

I put a 1.5 lb Jard trigger on my 24" RRA Bull AR and don't regret it now... its a perfect trigger for that gun.  But I still do want lighter triggers on the other two.... its tough to go from 1.5lbs to 6-7...

I would send him my triggers if he answered my emails... I'm not going to just mail him my parts when he can't even take the time to hit reply.

I've never purchased anything but have communicated with him on 3 separate occasions using the IM feature of AR15.com. He's always answered in short order. Seems like a very genuine guy.

Yes.

I just got one back, and as soon as I install it, the other one is going to Bill.

When I emailed him he got back to me the next day. I sent him the parts that day. Hoping for a week turn around.

Six Springfield triggers handled in three shipments.  Great communications, great job.  Had the hammers bobbed also.  They are 85% of a $300 trigger.  For competition, I use two AR-Gold that are the BESt triggers I have ever used.  I have Geisselle and JP that are good, but the AR-Gold is completely transparent.  Almost like you control the hammer with your mind, not your finger.

Springfield is a good choice.

I just got 2 back from Bill, they are great, break like a glass rod.  I also have a RRA trigger, and Bills job is better.  When you also consider the price, it is a no brainer to go with Bill's triggers.

I can't speak for the quality nowadays but my RRA 2 stage that was tuned bu john hollinger that I purchased about 9 years ago has been flawless through thousands of rounds of .223.

It's even seen at least 5K of .22lr since I got my .22lr coversion kit.
There must be at least over 10K of total rounds fired at and it continues to be flawless.

YMMV I guess.
