I've read good things about this one. It may be my choice for a current build I'm putting together. Anyone else actually tried this trigger? I have some excellent trigger packs in my other rifles, but they're in the $150-200 range, and I'd like to see if a cheaper option that works "well" actually exists. I think Truth About Guns did a test of this ALG trigger.

I absolutely love the RRA national match varmint trigger.
I got to use it in a high power competition and have since replaced every trigger I own. I also add the jp light spring kit to give me around a 2-2.5lb pull weight. Great combination that you can find for less than $100. |

| I personally like the Rock River Arms National Match 2 stage, as was already mentioned. But on occasion I do trigger jobs for friends that either want to keep the original trigger or don't want to spend the money to buy something a bit nicer. I used to have an FFL and a full fledged business doing gunsmith work, after I spent forever taking classes, but since my shop is in an attached garage I kept getting hassled by one particular ATF agent that wanted all of my personal guns on the books, even if they were in the house, and at one point wanted to inspect my house. I finally just shut it down, as it was more of a hobby/additional income thing and I already make good money outside of it. |

I think you know that usually when someone mentions a "normal" milspec trigger, they're referring to the knotchy milspec trigger that we've come to know and love. While still relatively milspec, apparently the ALG is "supposed" to be better. How much better?...I may be preparing to find out myself with my current build. I haven't ordered one yet, but if you've used one in a build, I'm all about learning from experience. Have you used one in a build? |

Quote fail. In regard to ALG triggers.
I have one and I'm not sure what rifle it is in because my other standard triggers are just as good. I bought it because I needed a FCG and didn't care if it cost $10 more. I got my money's worth but an upgrade it is not. I'm convinced most of the people who recommend these as upgrades shoot very little. |

With that said ( and no offense intended ) ... The LaRue deal is a heck of a deal. I built an AR-10 and the lower parts kit came with the ALG ACT trigger. I decided to put a Geissele two stage in it and the ACT went into an AR-15. I took it out with two other AR's that had a standard mil-spec triggers. I was with my son and a buddy and all of us could feel the difference between the ACT and one of the mil-spec triggers. It was total crap. The other mil-spec trigger was actually compareable to the ACT. I guess it is the luck of the draw with a lot of triggers in lower parts kits and the ALG triggers take the guesswork out of it if all you want is a good mil-spec trigger. And I'll be buying one of the MBT's even though I will be winning one of them right Mark?
