Not normal. The disconnector should not impact the hammer before the hammer
That's an odd looking disconnector. Can you remove it and take a better pic? The defect could actually be the disconnector, trigger, or hammer. If the hammer is held too low by the trigger/hammer sear engagements, this can happen. Nothing can be adjusted, however, the parts should be replaced. Cheap parts are cheap. |

Already noticed this but noticed something else also. The disconnector is made different than others I have. The upper arm that catches the rear of the hammer if the trigger is held during cocking is longer and at a more upward angle. Also in the lowers I tried my set in when you cock the hammer with out holding the trigger it still has to push the disconnector out of the way before the trigger pops up into the hammers trigger notch and moves the disconnector rearward away from the hammer. On all the other lower parts sets I tried on cocking the trigger rises into its notch in the hammer allowing the disconnectors arm to move out of the way of the rear hammer and never makes contact with the hammer.
Best I could tell it was the difference in the way the hammer and disconnector were made because I could but the trigger in lowers with other part sets it it function like the one I replaced it with. The set did functioned just differently than others I have. I order a few spare normal priced disconnectors also in an order and got two of those style disconnectors. I put them aside so as not to mix them with the other disconnectors I have. I got those style parts in the 29.99 Blackhawk kit. I bought the kit just to check it out so the rest of the parts were worth the kit price. |
