Helping a buddy and I put the trigger guard in backwards.

Best solution to remedy?  It is a magpul trigger guard.  What's the trick to getting the roll pin out of the front of reciever?
It's always something.

Make sure the area around the hole is supported properly and tap out the pin.

Oh, I see you put the pin in the front hole....

Well, if you can grip the pin with a pair of vise grips you might be able to pull it out.  Otherwise you might have to drill a hole in the other side.

I strongly doubt there's enough of the pin to get hold of to pull out, so most likely, you're going to have to make a new hole through which to knock the pin back out. You'll need a drill press, a clamp, number 51 & 30 drill bits, a 1/8" pin punch, and a hammer. Best if you also know what you're doing.

1. Clamp the receiver on the drill press table with a soft wood block underneath to level. Drill through the roll pin using the #51 drill bit and out the other side.
2. Turn the receiver over on the drill press table, and enlarge the new hole in the left side ear, using the  #30 drill bit.
3. With the receiver on the work bench, and the right-side ear supported on a block of soft wood, use a 1/8" roll pin punch to drive the roll pin free.
4. Touch up the newly-drilled hole with some Aluma-Black and re-install the correct way.

If that new hole in the left-side ear bothers, fill it with a small dollop of JB Kwik and smooth off.  HTH

Thx....
No good deed goes unpunished..... This is probably the 6-7th lower I've put together, frustrated I messed it up.

An option is to carefully cut the trigger guard in half front-to-back on the part by the magazine well, then from left-to-right somewhere in the center (at where your first cut ends), and finally replace the trigger guard and its roll pin.

Leave it and install another roll pin in the  rear position?

I may have to donate to the arfcom overlords....
I thought about cutting it, but concerned about messing up the lower, hence your caution as well.
No can do on leaving it as a mag won't seat..... I did think about grinding that portion out and leaving it.

I would carefully cut it out. Buy a new trigger guard and replace.

How's your talent level, and do you have a mill.

The roll pin can be drilled out enough to pretty much remove the end of it without destroying the receiver pin channel or the trigger guard in a mill, when once the trigger guard is off the receiver, then pin can can be pushed out, and the the guard installed with a new roll pin  the correct way instead.

Duh, obviously lacking skill, as I put it in wrong..... and no mill.  I'll probably break out the dremel and cut it off.....

Dremel FTMFW
Got it of, cut the guard off crossways, then cut down through it to get to roll pin.  Got roll pin cut and just barely nicked the lower.  Was pretty loose at this point, but I couldn't wiggle anything out.  Got a small chisel in between pieces and with a few taps one piece came out then I punched out the other through the ear of the lower.

Couldn't get the easy out to bite into the roll pin.
