I bought my AR used last month and it shoots great!  I was told it had trigger work done.  When I asked about, he said that it had been "stoned".  But all I know, my trigger is awsome!  It has NO play in it at all and the pull has been lightened up some.   I was able to shoot a couple of my buddies AR's this past weekend and to be honest, my trigger operates leaps and bounds over theirs.  Can anybody give a better explanation or find a thread as to what was done to my trigger?

It is a full RRA lower by the way.

Thanks for any info!!

"stoned"

they polished the contact surfaces.

So does that alone make my trigger perform the way it does?

Or are RRA triggers just good for not having any play in them?  One of the rifles I shot this past weekend was a Stag.  I've always heard great things about their LPK's but it had a decent amount of play in the trigger.  But like I said, I'm used to mine and it has none.

Play ? A two stage trigger pulls to the stop then the break. RRA has way shortened up  their secondarys for some reason. If your hammer hooks have been polished "through", expect your rifle to double etc in a few hundred rounds from soft metal wear, so enjoy for now.

Maybe play is the wrong term.   What I mean is that as soon as you pull the trigger, the gun fires.  There is no excess travel in it before the gun fires.  It's an instant pull-fire.

I haven't taken the lower apart yet, but when I separate the upper from the lower I can see some surfaces that have been polished.  This lower has cycled quite a few rounds in its life and still going good.

Sounds like a single-stage type that's been stoned, as you say, that is, engagement surfaces polished.

A pic of the innards of your lower will tell us a bit more, especially a side pic of the hammer, at rest, not cocked.

Yes that alone can give you an amazing trigger.

Bill Springfield at triggerwork.net does such work to triggers at a great price.

If you take it apart and post some pictures everyone can give a better answer to what was done to tour trigger.

If it's been 'stoned', will it pass a random drug test?  Can you use it as a duty gun?
