Which drop in trigger is the most durable and will hold up the longest?  Timney, Giessele, JP, or CMC and why.

I've never used a JP. The Geissele SSA is a non-adjustable that appears fairly tough. The Timneys are nice triggers, but they do rely on some screw tightening, so I don't know if that makes for a potential longevity problem or not. My CMC failed first time out.

You forgot one choice: GI Trigger with Bill Springfield trigger job.

Simplicity and durability of the stock GI trigger combined with a crisp 3 or 4 pound pull and no creep.  Not to mention that it's most likely the cheapest option as well.

I had my trigger worked over and it's hard to believe it's the same trigger parts.

+1  For the Timney

Have 2 of them and both have a lot of rounds on them without any issues.

Timney 3# drop-in trigger for me with the skeletonized trigger.  Nice trigger pull and crisp break.  Easy install.

I have the JP in one of mine and love it, but like MMcfpd said about the Timney is also true for the JP.  It has adjustment screws to set how you want your trigger.  Durability shouldn't really be effected by it, but JP does say to locktite the adjustment screws, so possibly some creep could work its way in if you dont.  I did end up replacing the yellow hammer spring with a standard hammer spring because I was getting a few light hits on xm193 (about 1/10.  second time through would usually fire fine).  Also, originally, I didn't use the included pins that have c-clips on them and later had an issue where the hammer pin would work its way out.  (spring and pin both got replaced at the same time)

I was really wanting a Giessele, but I wasn't willing to wait the time it would take at the time to get it in.

I was seriously considering the Timney, but at the time they were having some issues with failures, so I decided I would just avoid them.

I put a RR trigger in my other AR and when I'm in a better place financially, I do plan to put a match trigger in it instead.  Maybe I could go through and polish it up a little more and all that, but I still feel it wont be nearly as nice as a higher end trigger.  I do think I'll go with a Giessele this time though, since I'll still have a functioning rifle while I wait.

You forgot STOCK.  I like the crappy for precision shooting but good for combat stock trigger pull.  7 years in the Infantry and I am used to the stock trigger and it helps prevent AD's which is nice when the FNG clowns next to you during the live fire like to trip on EVERYTHING!

I have four Geiselle triggers - (2) SSF's, High Speed Match and a High Speed DMR.  There is no other trigger on the market that is as well made and durable as these IMO.  I've tried them all, this is my choice from now on.

Has anybody tried the Giessele SSA yet?

I think that sounds like the next one I might buy.

Yes, and I've ordered a couple more. I like it even more than the High Speed Geisseles.

How long did it take for them to arrive at your house after you ordered them. I have been hearing it takes 4 to 5 months, is this correct??

Well,  3-gun shooters go thru a shitload of rounds.

JP is very popular with the 3-gun crowd.

Mine has held up very well.

I'll say:

I've been using a Giessele in my 3 gun rifle for around 3 years.  It's one of the first ones that came out before they had options.  It's held up just fine with all the rounds I put through it.  My backup rifle has a Timney.  While I haven't put as many rounds through it, it's a fine trigger if you want a single stage.

The Rock River Arms trigger, while nice...isn't in the same league as the mention triggers, both in regards to quality (pull) or durability (high rates of failure when pushed)

If its for RANGE ONLY

the JP trigger is pretty good! I got to try one at the range
it felt like my 1911 Colt Combat Elite with trigger job

But for tactical I would go with the Best
