I've hear GREAT things about the Geissele Triggers. What do you guys think about them? Or would I be better off just buying a Spikes Tactical Battle Trigger for a third (or less) of the price. I will be hunting, competing, and shooting zombies and other scumbags. The basic Geissele trigger i've found starting about $180 and go up from there.

I have the Spike's and have shot an AR with the Geiselle and hands down the Geiselle is better.

Spike's battle trigger is a good general purpose trigger, but it's not as light and clean as the Geiselle offerings.

Geissele makes very nice triggers. They are 2-stage triggers so there is take up, some may like, some may not.

If you like the standard trigger but want less weight pull or crisper ALG makes some nice triggers.  I would recommend a JP spring kit if the pull is heavy to lower the weight as it sounds they tend to be about 6lbs give or take a quarter.  Or if you like really crisp, very very short trigger travel and reset, single stage triggers, get a JP.

These are two entirely different triggers.
The Spikes is simply a plated USGI trigger while the Geissele is a highly evolved M16/M4/AR15 trigger.

I would go with an ALG before the Spikes.

I second the ALG - ACT trigger.  I have this FCG in both of my AR's and I love them.

Geissele makes both single and 2 stage triggers.  The Super 3 Gun and Super Dynamic 3 gun are both single stage triggers.  I have the SD3G in a couple of my rifles, and they are very nice fast triggers.

bwideman, you may want to do your homework. I think you will find both triggers mentioned in your post are 2 stage. I don't thnk they make any single stage.

From Geissele's website:

"Super 3 Gun and the Dynamic 3 Gun:  The Geissele Super 3 Gun (S3G) trigger is a semi-automatic-only derivative of the two-stage Super Select-Fire (SSF) combat trigger that Geissele Automatics produces for customers in the U.S. Special Operations Community. The S3G was developed to combine the SSF combat trigger’s match-grade semi-automatic performance with its smooth single-stage full-automatic feel to make a fast, smooth, and robust trigger ideal for 3 Gun competition shooting."

The mimic the feels of single but it is technically a 2-stage.  Look at the fcg of a 2 stage and a single stage.  They do not look the same.  Comparing the Super 3 Gun to my JP, there is a difference.  While smooth, trigger travel is much further than what my JP is and can be.

According to Geissele, they are neither......they're hybrid and act like single-stage.

I have a RECCE with a Geissele SSA that I got for $170 and in my opinion it is worth every penny. The Spike's is a good trigger too but they are two different animals. The Spike's is probably a better multi use trigger. I wold also take a look at the ALG triggers to if I were you. They are made by Geissele but marketed under his wife's name: Amy Lee Geissele. I believe the QMS or ACT trigger would fill your need very well. Haven't shot one but I hear they are fantastic.
