| My question is what ACOG do I need for 2 different rifles. I have a Ar15A4 clone with 20 inch barrel and a SIG556 with a 17 inch. I want to go with the T31RCO and I noticed there are two different types. One for the 14 inch barrel and one for the 20 inch. Which one would be the best for both. Thanks |

I know, but I'm trying to get as close to the real thing as possible. The 31F is the real thing. The USMC first bought 01NSNs, then 31F's. Afterwords they decided they wanted a model for the M4, and a model for the A4. There are still plenty of 31F's in service, even though they are being phased out. |

The 01 does not have the light bar on top of the ACOG but has a BUIS built into the top of the scope housing. The RCO A4 is for the 20" battle rifle and the RCO M4 is for the 16" M4 battle rifle. I have the RCO M4 and it is a wonderful scope.
My understanding of the ACOG's calibration is if the Sig's twist rate and barrel length is consistent or even comparable with the 16" military M4 then you should be fine. ACOG does not make a military brand of scope and a civilian equivalent. So if you buy a TA01NSN or a TA31RCO-M4CP, you get exactly what the Military gets. Either way you look at it you get the real thing. |
