| Looked in the search engine, and may have missed the Reflex II discussion. Aim Point seems to very popular with yall. I'm considering Trijicon Reflex II on a shorty flat top. Will be used for work (LEO). Is the aim point popular because the military adopted it?? I like the idea of NOT having to rely on a battery. What do you think??? |

Reflex's are good sights, but they do have some negative points. Mainly, if you are in a contrasting light situation, such as if you are in a dark area, and are shooting at something in a bright area, the reticle will fade out. Same thing happens if you are in a dark area, and have to use a weapon mounted light to illuminate your target. Check the optics board. Has been a good bit of discussion there. Moving this to the optics board as well. |

Your correct the 2 most popular are the Aimpoint ML2/ML and the EOTech 551/552 choices. For your purpose, I would suggest a hard look at the EOTech as it is fast and rugged. As to the "battery" the AA version has approx. 300 hour life and can be depended on to hold up to almost any op time. FWIW the Aimpoints have a battery life measured for most use at about 1 year plus. While the Reflex sights were popular early on, these 2 above have pretty much become the best picks. I own both, Mike |

I like EoTech. The ARMS #38 will not allow you to co-witness that I know about with an EoTech. That would be the only think I can think of. This may not even be an issue for you. I got the form a customer. “Mike, we got called out (SWAT) to go to a bordering county to get a man out of a house who was held up with a gun and threatening the family. We were out from midnight until about 0600 hours. Needless to say it was dark and I was proud to have the Reflex-II on my M-4. We ended up, after trying to negotiate for a couple of hours, using gas rounds from a shotgun to get him out. Anyway, if we had made entry into the house I would have been pretty confident with the Reflex-II. I am still trying to get used to the triangle vs. a small dot. I may end up changing to the RX-01-NSN or the RX-01-17 in the future but I'll try the one I have for a little longer. If I do decide to get another I will gladly deal with CS GunWorks. J.
