Does pushing the little button let the sight spring up like arms?

Do any other sights other thatn Arms 40's spring up when you push a button or lever.  I had always thought arms the best, but the Troy seems to default to the short range aperature and has a protected windage adjustment.

Nah, the Troy locks in the upward position unlike the ARMS which is held up with spring tension.  The little button unlocks it so you can fold it back down again, there's no spring in the Troy BUIS.

The ARMS will deploy faster if you're using it as a true back up sight, but I like the Troy because right now mine's up all the time as I don't currently have an optic.

Fearless

ETA Oh yes, the Troy DOES default to the short-range aperature like you thought.

One thing about my Troy is that the  button is a bitch to push. I mean, it is really tight and the spring is stiff. A VERY nice piece of machine work and flawless finish, but there no chance to "Quickly" flip it up whitout shifting your concentration from the target to the BUIS and then back to the target. Not a problem when plinking or at the range, but it would SUCK to be in a firefight and loose acquisition.

Thanks all....I think I'll buy both and see which I like more.

So no other BUIS flips up with just a push button or lever like Arms?

The non-L ARMS40 variants default to the large aperature as well, if that's what you're looking for.
