Does anyone run one of these?  I'm wondering if a 7" Troy MRF-DI is stable/tight enough to mount an optic to in front of a fixed carry handle receiver and still maintain zero.

Thanks, ZM

my guess would be yes,, they enjoy a great reputation for stability. i have one, but, not anything mounted on it. i tried one after reading different threads with folks talking about how solid they are.

Mine would not be stable enough for that. Mine rotates ever so slightly.

I would say yes, mine is rock solid.

mine is rock solid on my 6920, and I used to run one on a RRA that was also very solid, great rail for the money.

I have the drop in rails on my carbine. Mine rotate slightly, side to side - like you'd see in the standard plastic handguards.
I've seen pictures of optics mounted on military M4's rails, which aren't free floating... So I'm not sure how slight rotation effects an optic.

I don't have much to offer on the subject, maybe some who's played around with that setup will chime in.

Mine works great for a light and VFG though!
