I've been looking for a VFG and settled on the QD TD stubby, but then I came across the TROY VFG.  I dig the fact that you can make it into a full size or stubby grip.  The only downside is that it's not QD.  I called Troy and it doesn't seem that they're going to have a QD version for at least a year, as there has not been much of a demand.

Anyone know where I can find a used TD QD stubby VFG?  I've already looked on the EE here and over at M4carbine.

The LaRue FUG might work for you.  They show up on the EE every once in a while.

No doubt it's a good VFG, but it is pricey.  My buddy has one and it's rock solid, but, once again, the price is sorta high.  This is a major reason the Troy VFG is so appealing to me, is that you can go short or standard and it is at a good price.  However, I understand that the reason for this much lower price is due to the lack of the QD feature.  I think I just may go the Troy route, as once I have my middy set up the way I want it, I doubt I'll be moving stuff around much after that.  I don't tend to mess with things too much once I get something dialed in.

Troy makes this to make it a tad easier to put on and take off the grip.  I suspect I'd use some blue Loc-Tite, as this is what I use with all my stuff that is 'screwed' on.

Any other suggestions?

TangoDown.  I don't use anything but a short grip any more, so a modular design isn't necessary for me.  Modularity is  good if you're unsure what length you like.  If you already know you like the stubby grip, the ability to make it longer is almost lost on you because you'll probably never change it anyway

Bobro has done away with their full size VFG and has gone with a short grip!  They are very nice.  I also use a Tango Down VFG with the QD base and love it.  I honestly don't remove it all that often but the ADM QD features allows for a perfect lock and a rock solid attachment.  I've been very happy with it!

I'm tempted to take one of the stubby TD grips from our inventory to use on my AK

I'd rather think dedicated  I'm making drawings of our improved charging handle, still not sure what to call it yet.  BAD-ICH (improved charging handle) wouldn't sound good

Another shot of the TD grip

How about BAD-BATCH (Battle Arms Tactical Charging Handle)

Or BAD-LATCH (Leverage Assisted Tactical Charging Handle) - assuming that it has a larger latch

ETA, yes I'm bored.

Hay I like it!

As to which parts will be larger, we can't disclose it yet, but soon

Ahem... There doesn't seem to be a BAD-ASS installed on that rifle... You got some 'splaining to do Lucy :)
