Just ordered one and havent posted in awhile and thought i would share lol. Next for my rig is one of the new Geissele SSE triggers. I was debating about adding a set of anti rotational pins curious if I really need them though my pins a solid and have never walked on me. Should I put the money elsewhere?
Thanks! |

Im about to get one i hope. KNS pins are not necessary unless your runnign FA in a registered reciever. Anyway, POST PICS when you get the vtac. |

Should I put the money elsewhere? Thanks! When I installed my SSA in a 6920 I immediately noticed my hammer pin rotating with the hammer.I thought the J clip inside of the hammer might have too much tension on the hammer pin. I called the good folks at Geissele to discuss this and was assured it was no biggie. I'll take them for their word, however it kind of bugs me to know that pin is hardened steel rotating in an aluminum hole. Go figure... |
| I went with the Carbine length since I could get it in FDE. I had debated with getting a 12' and ditching my front sight post and adding a claymore or Noveske brake. Either way I will post pics when i get it on and fitted! Thanks for the info on the SSE I will add the anti rotating pins to the list then! |

Now you've got me wondering whether I should install the non rotating pins my self. That hardened steel hammer pin rotating with the hammer in the aluminum hammer pin hole is starting to get on my nerves after reading this thread. I would be grateful if some one would chime in and tell me a rotating hammer pin is no big deal. ETA: Maybe I should start a thread on this rotating hammer pin just to get a quicker answer. |
| I'm not an expert, but I'm pretty sure the pins rotating is fine, possibly even by design. It is a round pin in a round hole and there is no mechanisim in the standard design that I can see that would ensure no rotational movement when installed. Now, side to side shifting would be a problem, but is really only possible with an improperly installed trigger. |
| Read the note in adco. It specifically recommends against using kns anti rotation pins with the geissele triggers. I had some purchased for my builds but decided not to use them after reading it. I have them sitting in the parts bin, if anyone is still interested in getting some I will let a set go for 30 shipped . |
| There are rifles that have been in service for over forty years with standard FCG pins. Anti-rotational pins are a waste of cash and may cause even more damage if a pin were to break, yet remain in the lower and function intermittently until the broken pin was found. I recall Steve from ADCO mentioning this specifically. Standard pins are all you need. |
