I'm having an issue with one of my rifles not locking back on the last round. Started after installing a UBR stock. After ruling out ammo, mags and the bolt catch. I went to the buffer spring and its almost 13.5 or so inch long. Not sure how it was working with the lower I had it in before changing to this one UBR....Figured this was a good excuse to buy the Tubbs. I cant find a measurement on it tho, site says fits both "Carbine and Standard" but I don't want to end up with another rifle sized buffer spring........

If someone could measure theirs and give me that states that would be very helpful

Thanks in advance.

my guess would be that the screw to install the new stock is too long and interfering with the buffer. Does it lock back if you pull the CH and hold the bolt lock?

Interesting thought.. ill have to look at the buffer to see if its hitting something. I do know that the spring im running is to long tho as well

Right on, thank you for that.

So it seems like that would be way to long for a carbine....?

mines in a S&W M&P with pinned stock and works great.  If it binds in a colapsable stock, you just cut 6 coils off the spring. Easy.

The Tubb’s CS flat wire spring is OK in carbines.
It will not coil bind.
I am running that spring and an H2 buffer in a 16” mid-length.

For your purpose the compressed length is more important.  I use a Tubb GS flat spring in all of my rifles, 11.5, 18, 24 inch barrels.  It is IMHOa superior product.
