Where are you guys getting your socks from and if not using a sock what are you using and where did you get it? I have seen a pic where a guy looked like he had foam on his.
What kinda of concoctions have you come up with?

Buffer tube cover? Check out Exile Machine. 5" or 6" open ended foam or closed end rubber w/foam texture. 1.22" ID works well with PSA or RRA style tubes.

They also have caps & bumpers.

You can get them from bike shops too. It't the tubing that they use to cover the handle bars on sport bikes. You can get the stuff in any color too. Use spray soap on your tube, and slide it on. When the soap dries, you are GTG. GROG
