Anybody know of a turn bolt AR upper receiver?  Basically looking to use everything else AR (any lower, barrels, free float tubes, etc) except have a manual turn bolt instead of the gas operated bolt.

I would be interest in both AR-15 and AR-10 sized uppers.

Thanks

I dont think there is such a thing except 50bmg..
Take the gas tube out and it will be a bolt action..

At best its going to be a strait pull bolt action, they are fairly popular with British Highpower shooters

Some of our Brit friends have modified uppers that go this route.  They're modified to be a straight pull bolt action with a charging handle on the left hand side of the upper.

ETA: Beaten by a minute.

What about Tubb guns?

Here you go....Uses a Rem 700 short action.  I have one and shoot it every year at Camp Perry during long range.

Sweet...It looks like it takes the tandard AR stock and pistol grip.  Regarding barrels, does it take Remington 700 barrels or can I slap any ol AR barrel on there?

Also, is it the remington 700 long or the remington short action?

I want to build one up in Remington 260.

The dream was to get a long range shooter with AR ergonomics and 3rd party items with a bolt action.  That way I could spend a few hundred dollars and then re-use all the AR stuff I have lying around. I was hoping there was just an upper someone made that was turn bolt.

Unfortunately, for the price of the Tubb 2000 we are in Accuracy International or Sako TRG + a scope range.

The tube gun may need a little getting used to but the Tubb 2000t is pretty sweet.

I just sealed the gas block so that it would shoot single shot for one upper. But yeah no massive bolt, gotta stick with the standard bolt. And that tube gun looks very interesting i have to say.

It won't use an AR barrel.  It's a Rem 700 short action with any barrel threaded for a Rem action.  Mine is a .308 with a 28" Krieger barrel.  I was looking for a stock to build my long range rifle on a Rem action when I ran accros this.  I love mine!
