I need help. I bought my first rifle recently - a DD M4XV - and I love it. After 500 rounds or so through the factory iron sights I am ready to start figuring out the optics thing. I want to start with a basic variable in the $200 - $300 range. I am new enough at this that I need someone to explain to me the differences, pros, cons, etc. of these 2 styles of scopes:

So far, I'm shooting for fun and to familiarize myself with the platform - punching holes in paper, mostly. I'll be attempting to put a hurt on some prairie dogs this spring and then ??? Thanks to all for input |
