The finish is dry film; more precisely; Permaslik-G. Not easy to find; you can't exactly buy it off the shelf at your local Home Depot. I've seen it on eBay, but at $16-$24 a can; is kinda pricey.

I was able to buy the military surplus stuff off eBay for $2.50 a can and one can will refinish about twenty 30 round magazines, depending on the amount of coats you apply per magazine.

So dry film is the correct finnish?, does anyone know if the dry film used on the magazines from 44mag.com the correct stuff?....

Seems like any coating that could come off in flakes or pieces would not be as good of an idea as one that comes off as more of a powder inside a magazine.

The military finish is baked-on and much tougher than the typical dry-film-in-a-can variety.
