I know there are mixed reviews of UTG products.  Some like the price, some think they're too cheap and no good.  Most I've read about it though has to do with rails.  I"m looking at buying a UTG Buffer Tube Kit.  Has anyone had any problems?  If so, what were they?  I'll be putting it on a Noveske Gen 1 Chainsaw lower and mounting a Magpul STR buttstock on a 300 blackout.

I wouldn't.

I don't see any reason to save a few bucks on the premise that UTG is now trying to produce reasonable quality products. There are plenty of established companies out there.

Are there a few that you would recommend?

I'd recommend BCM, Vltor or Spikes.

There are still plenty of others to choose from though. Parts of course are still pretty scarce.

The receiver extension can conceivably sustain severe forces in the field use of a rifle.  Bad place to go cheap (i.e. extruded) when first quality (i.e. forged) costs little more.

If the tube cracks, your rifle is tango uniform.  If your rifle is TU, you may be also.

Dumb place to save money, me thinks.

I have had good experience with all the Made in USA UTG products, but for something like a buffer tube i think i would spend a little extra for a tube from a reputable manufacturer.

It would be un-American to put such a thing on a fine receiver like that.

What am I looking for?  Forged, 6000 or 7000 series aluminum, any specific treatment to the aluminum (anodized...not sure if that's the right way to ask)?  I agree with the sentiment of not going cheap on the buffer tube.

you have a Noveske lower and you're asking about putting a UTG receiver extension on it...

7075 is what you are looking for.

I ended up going with the BCM 6 Position Buffer Tube, the Carbine spring, and the Carbine buffer (wasn't labeled).  I'm actually helping my dad and brother in law build a 300 black out and building one myself.  Two of them will be SBR and run with a suppressor, so I got the H2 buffers for them.  Thanks for not letting me put a UTG buffer tube on my Noveske lower.  I must've had a brain fart.
