I got a preban Colt AR15 A2 with a 16" barrel and collapsible stock, nice weapon; only the bayonet lug is so far from the flash hider that the bayonet blade only extends half way past the flash hider and the bayonet ring cant anchor on the flash hider as it fits loosely around the barrel. Whats up with that? Any way to fix this problem? Thanks. |

I read it in the header for this thread; as in: "UNIGUE COLT AR15 PROBLEM???" Any other questions?  Actually, any preban Colt 16 incher will have the bayo lug---because Colt was too damn lazy to cut them off before they had to, after the ban went into effect. When I had my own SP1 Carbine Class 3'd 25 years ago, and had the barrel reprofiled to XM177E2 confiuration, I made sure the lug was cut off; just as it was on the originals. I guess if you'tr a knife freak, you'll have to get the special bayonet. Me, the only blade I need is the Swiss Army knife in my pocket---but to each his own
