So since I started building my first AR, things have changed quite a bit...mainly do to me researching and what is really available without waiting months for parts.
I had initial planned to buy: Spikes stripped lower Spikes LPK DPMS oracle A3 complete upper DPMS 6 pos mil spec stock/buffer After a few weeks of research I now have or have ordered: Spikes LPK PSA M4A1 16" carbine complete upper with std handguards and A2 flashhider Magpul MOE Mil spec collapsable stock PSA buffer kit assembly Magpul 30rd mag The only thing left to do is get the stripped lower. Since I live in Illinois, i have to wait for my FOID card to arrive. (shoudl be in a next couple weeks hopefully). I still want to get the Spikes Lower but the availability is pretty slim. I am also looking at the PSA lowers but not sure how well that lower will go wih the Spikes LPK. Any thoughts? |
| all i can really add is I'm am doing the opposite of what you ended your post with, i went with the spikes lower, and spikes lpk, there were no issues with assembly. i should be recieving my PSA upper tmw, to complete my build. as far as concern with a PSA lower and a Spikes lpk, i wouldnt worry about them not fitting together well. |
| I didn't see a reason they wouldn't work well either but wanted to check anyway. I dont want there to be any problems once i get everything together. Where did you get your spikes lower from and did you have any wait time? All the places I have looked are out of stock currently. |

I don't know where you are located in state, but if you need help and or tools I would be glad to help. I live on the outskirts of Elgin. The lowers and lower part kits are standardized, so mixing brands won't be a problem unless something is out of spec. I wish I could help with locating a Spikes lower, but I haven't seen any in stock recently. |

Alright guys, heres another update to my build. I received the PSA stripped lower today from my FFL so of course the first thing I did when i got home was start to put it together. here a few photos of all the pieces and then the finish product. If the pictures don't worry, my apologies, this is the first time I'm trying this.
