You want to know if its a Colt, or PSA, or whatever, right? Certain companies (Colt, or whoever) use the stripped uppers that they get from whoever forged the upper. Unless you know who you bought it from, or if they marked the upper (PSA, and I believe BCM) with their name, it can be hard to figure out who assembled it.

Is this a complete upper (barrel, etc), or just the stripped upper? If it has an attached barrel, what markings are on it?

You might be able to do a google search and see what companies use that brand of forged upper for their builds.

ETA: Just doing a quick search shows that several companies have used Anchor Harvey Aluminum forgings for their uppers.

Ok ruled out rra and model 1. Neither makes a 6.5" model. Anyone have some ideas who might make a 6.5" model?

You're really gonna have to post a pic. A pic is worth 1,000 words for people that know what they are looking for in order to make an identification.

Otherwise you could always Google Image the term 6.5" AR Pistol. Click here, do you see yours?
