Greetings Folks,
My very first post here as an M1A guy wanting to know more about the black rifle. My local toy store has an LMT lower with a 6.8 upper on it in the consignment rack for what looks like a good price ($750)....if the upper is a decent one. The flattop upper is marked with what appears to be a keyhole forge mark (Cerro?), but no other markings. It is a near perfect park/color match for the lower...which might mean something...or nothing. Nice M4 feed ramps. Here are a few pics. http://users.frii.com/jbreeding/forgemark.JPG http://users.frii.com/jbreeding/bolt.JPG http://users.frii.com/jbreeding/feedramps.JPG http://users.frii.com/jbreeding/gasblock.JPG http://users.frii.com/jbreeding/gb2.JPG http://users.frii.com/jbreeding/starboard.jpg The barrel is marked on top and just in front of the gas block... 'M18' (could be MP, unsure, old eyes!) '6.8MM' 'Rem SPC' Looks like a free float tube handguard, unmarked and probably came from somewhere else than LMT. Didn't have time to pull the bolt and carrier, I'll do that next time. Can anyone shed some light on where the upper/barrel might have come from? Thanks in advance. Looking forward to learning a lot here. -Jack |
