There is a thread in one of the tacked threads at the top covering lower builds that I used years ago when building some lowers. Well after several years of never having enough cash at once to buy an upper kit or assembled upper, the decision has been made to buy piece by piece. I can justify the @100 per month easier than putting aside the 100 per month, I know it is the same spending but money does not get reallocated in the mean time. Not to mention the more I know about my rifle system the better.
So is there an archived thread I have not found or something covering building uppers? School me on uppers with/ without M4 ramps and barrels to go along with. What important things should I consider on my builds. Note: Builds are for wife, daughters(under 12 currently) and myself. I mention this in relation to barrel weights and such. They won't be children for ever but does a lightweight barrel make a huge difference? My experience is limited to my Bushmaster M4gery 14.5 pinned barrel.
