Ok, so I have an assembled Sun Devil Lower that I have had waiting for its upper for months. My upper just arrived today (Addax ATAC) and so naturally i dropped everything and went to assemble the two. Here is my problem: With the front pivot pin installed, the rear pin won't push through. If I put the rear in first, the front won't go in. Upon close inspection, it seems like the lower receiver holes are ever so slightly closer together than the upper pin holes, but in must be by only a mm or less, but it enough i guess. I have another stripped Sun Devil Lower that appears fine when they are held together. This is my first AR so I don't have any other uppers to experiment with. So is my lower out of spec? What do I do?
Also, if I want to swap my only LPK into the other receiver, how do I remove the detent from the front pivot pin? Thanks, I'm desperate... |

Pull the pivot pin all the way out and you'll see a small hole. Stick a paper clip or finishing nail in there to compress the detent spring. Turn the pin a little and pull it out. Be careful not to launch your parts across the room. Thanks, can't believe I missed that
Ok, so I managed to get both of the pins out and tried to slide them into the other stripped receiver and it's better, but still tight. I can get the rear about half in until it stops, but they should just slide in easily right? Am I missing something? The upper was supposedly test fired, so it was on a lower at some point... |
