I have an OLY with a hand guard upper and was wondering if I can put ANY flatop upper on my OLY lower.

Yes, as long as the pivot pin hole and takedown pin holes are in spec to the std AR-15 prints. Swap away.

Yeah, you can put any upper on your lower as long as the barrel is over 16" and meets the pre/post ban requirements for your lower. If you use a large-hole Colt upper, you will need an adapter.

Your lower has a small pivot and so does the upper in the auction you mentioned, so it's an easy match.

That is, assuming that your lower is in spec. Some Olympic Arms lowers had the pivot and/or takedown pin holes slightly off, requiring fitting of all uppers. This is done by filing the misaligned hole in the upper slightly to get it to line up. Chances are that your lower is in spec, and you should have no problem.

I'm no gunsmith or anything, but how dificult would it be to assemble a stripped upper from my upper?
