This is probably a ridiculous question and has probably been addressed but I could find it. So could you use a 3x magnifier with an already magnified scope? I ask as I got a Nikon P223 3x scope in a trade. I'm going to be building a new AR15 and had originally planned on going with a Primary Arms 1-6x scope. But since I got the 3x in the trade and it's pretty short so I was wondering how that would work.

If I doesn't work I'll most likely post it for sale or trade for a 1-4x or 1-6x scope.

If you got the Nikon scope they have an app for a smart phone they have an app that all you have to do is select your scope and the select the weight of the bullet that you used to zero. And if shooting over/under the zero it will tell you how many clicks to dial it in to what you are shooting. App is Nikon SpotOn. I am pretty sure I have the same scope you are talking about. Although I haven't taken it out to zero in yet due to shitty weather and need someone to go with me to put up the target yet I have boresited it and have played with the app. And looks easy to get to where I need to get. Without out the wind gusts at 50mph which is happens at lot here. Hell if I get a calm day at 20mph wind and get a good group I am set.

What distance to you zero at? Is it a Nikon app? Or can you let me know the name?

This is what I have:

Im not sure if the scope's eye relief will prevent you from placing the magnifier right against the scope?

Also the magnifier will magnify the scope's reticle.

Edit- I just tried it with my 3-9 Nikon set to 3x, with a 3x magnifier behind it, I couldn't see.

That was my thought too. The scope has more relief than I expected but I'm still not too sure.

I downloaded Nikon SpotOn and it asks you to input all pertinent information. So if that's the app, I got it. That should really help.
