I have a question for those of you that are familiar with the VIS 3 rifle length monolithic upper.

I understand that the VIS monolithic system will accept any standard AR barrel.

With that in mind, can any standard AR barrel be installed without the assistance of a gunsmith? Could I do it myself?

In other words, how do you replace or switch barrels with the VIS?

The VIS isn't a quick-change barrel design like the LMT MRP, it comes with a special barrel nut and matching spanner wrench. Removing the bottom rail of the VIS allows access to the barrel nut. I wouldn't attempt to change the barrel myself, that's definitely something I'd have a gunsmith do.
